TDP leader wonders why TRS is avoiding obstructing YSR Congress’ protest
‘Nagam started speaking against TDP leadership only after being refused PAC chairmanship’
HYDERABAD: Convener of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Telangana Forum Errabelli Dayakar Rao has alleged that Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and YSR Congress Party have a tacit understanding and it was proved on Monday in the ‘namesake’ obstruction of ‘Rythu Poru’ protests in Telangana.Talking to media persons here on Monday, he questioned the TRS leadership why it avoided obstructing the YSR Congress’ protest programmes in all Telangana districts, when the latter had not made its stand clear on statehood issue. Instead, the TRS was creating hurdles for all Telangana-related meetings of the TDP.
Mr. Dayakar Rao appealed to the people of Telangana to understand the designs of TRS as it was keeping quite on the programmes of a party the president of which had held placards against Telangana in Parliament and mobilised Seemandhra MPs to speak in support of united Andhra Pradesh. He was indirectly referring to YSR Congress president Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy.
Students’ protest
He said with the TRS not doing anything, students of Kakatiya University had stepped to protest the YSR Congress’ programme in Warangal, but they were attacked by the activists of the new party.
Taking a dig at the suspended TDP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy, Mr. Dayakar Rao alleged that the former had started speaking against the leadership only after the party refused to re-nominate him as Public Accounts Committee chairman.
He also criticised his former colleague for keeping quiet on Mr. S. Jaipal Reddy’s remarks on Telangana issue.
Meanwhile, TDP legislator A. Revanth Reddy, in a separate press conference, sought to know from Dr. Janardhan Reddy why people of Telangana, including the TRS and T-JAC, were unable to recognise his fight for Telangana.
He alleged that it was due to Dr. Janardhan Reddy that the TDP had boycotted the all-party meet convened by the Centre after the Srikrishna Committee report.
The party would examine taking him back if he apologised to the leadership for maligning it in the name of Telangana
